Miss Teen Viet Cultural Fest Pageant
Open to females ages 13-17
The Miss Teen Viet Cultural Fest is a Vietnamese-American scholarship pageant to be held during Viet Cultural Fest. The Miss Teen Viet Cultural Fest pageant will present the beauty of the Vietnamese-American female as a symbol of cultural pride through her poise, grace, and eloquence. Participants will be scored in three categories: evening gown, ao dai of choice, and interview.
Lantern Contest
Open to children ages 5-17, split into 3 groups of 5-8, 9-12, 13-17
The Mid-Autumn Festival (Tết Trung Thu) is a harvest festival held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, children light lanterns and participate in a procession. Participants will submit their handmade lanterns to compete for prizes.
Traditional Cultural Clothing Contest
Open to children ages 5-11, split into 2 groups of 5-8, 9-11
The Áo Dài is the Vietnamese national garment, worn by both men, women and children alike. Viet Cultural Fest will present a Traditional Cultural Clothing contest for young children. Participants will parade across the stage in their traditional cultural clothing to compete for prizes.
Phở Eating Contest
Open to all ages
Phở, the quintessential dish of Vietnam, is a Vietnamese soup consisting of broth, rice noodles called bánh phở, a few herbs, and meat, primarily made with either beef (phở bò) or chicken (phở gà). Viet Cultural Fest will host a Pho Eating contest in which contestants will attempt to eat a large bowl of pho in the fastest time.

Traditional Chess (Cờ Tướng) Tournament
Open to all ages
Cờ Tướng is a widely popular traditional chess game often played by older men in Vietnam. Today, Cờ Tướng has become very popular, attracting people of all ages, women, and even young people like to play online through websites/apps. Viet Cultural Fest will host a double elimination Cờ Tướng Tournament with cash prizes.

Thi Hát tại Viet Cultural Fest
Để tạo cơ hội cho những giọng ca có triển vọng có dịp trình diễn trước công chúng, và cũng để phong phú hóa chương trình và không khí Ngày Viet Cultural Fest , Ban Tổ Chức xin trân trọng thông báo về Chương Trình Thi Hát Bolero. Chương Trình Thi Hát sẽ được tổ chức tại Hội Chợ Văn Hóa, hay còn được gọi là Viet Cultural Fest vào ngày 28 tháng 9, 2019 tại Trung Tâm NRG.
Quí vị muốn tham gia chương trình thi hát Bolero có thể ghi danh trên trang web: www.VietCulturalFest.org . Hồ sơ ghi danh bao gồm một tấm hình và một video thu trước bài hát sẽ được trình diễn của thí sinh. Hạn chót ghi danh là ngày 21 tháng 9 năm 2019. Xin ghi tên sớm để được ưu tiên trong thủ tục chọn lựa.
Đố Vui Để Học/Việt Trivia Competition
Open to ages 8-18
The Việt Trivia team of the Viet Cultural Festival 2019 cordially invites all teachers and parents/legal guardians of Vietnamese school students of the greater Houston area to register your child to compete in the Ultimate Việt Trivia Competition. Students will compete to win prizes per age group as well as for overall prizes for the competition.
