Sangeeta Kaur (Teresa Mai) – Grammy®-Winning Artist, Vocalist & Visionary Leader


Sangeeta Kaur, also known as Teresa Mai, is a Vietnamese-American soprano, composer, and producer recognized for her genre-defying sound that fuses classical, cinematic, and spiritual influences. Her music— rooted in sacred intention and vocal excellence—is known for its emotional depth and purity, resonating with audiences across the world.


She earned her Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory, building a strong foundation in classical technique that informs her distinctive artistry.


In 2022, Sangeeta won the Grammy® Award for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album for Mythologies by Danaë Xanthe Vlasse, making history as the first Vietnamese- American singer to earn a Grammy in a vocal category. She was nominated again in 2024 for Mythologies II in the Best Classical Compendium category, further establishing her as a distinctive voice in the modern classical and crossover genres.


Through her independent labels, Sangeeta Kaur Music and Studio Hill Records, she has released a transformative body of work, including Niguma, Ascension, Mirrors, Compassion, Illuminance, and Aurora. Her compositions often integrate mantra, lush orchestration, and spiritual themes, creating immersive and healing musical experiences.


Sangeeta serves as a Governor for the Recording Academy Texas Chapter and sits on the Board of Trustees for Austin Opera. She is the founder and owner of Studio Hill, a state-of-the-art recording studio and creative sanctuary in Austin, Texas.
